Bluffton, IN- a guide
Bluffton is a town in Allen County, Indiana, United States. The population was 4,560 at the 2010 census. The town is the county seat of Allen County[6] and is home to the county courthouse. Bluffton is notable for its Victorian houses along Cherry Street and Main Street.
Bluffton was founded in 1838 by Isaac Reed and Henry B. McCulloch on the Wabash River in northeastern Indiana.[7][8] Bluffton was named for early settler Abraham Bluff, who operated a ferry boat crossing the Wabash River from Ohio to Indiana.[9][10]
The first lots were platted in May 1838.[11] A log cabin was built by John Taylor and served as the first courthouse from 1838 until 1841.[12][13] In May 1841, the courthouse was relocated to a two-story frame building on public square.[14] This building also housed the first post office (est. May 28, 1841) and served as the courthouse until 1849 when a brick Greek Revival building was constructed on the public square.[15][16][17] The second story of this building contained the courtroom and offices for the county sheriff and clerk.[18]

When you enter A Perfect Blend, the first thing you notice is the intoxicating smell of fresh flowers. But what really sets this Bluffton, Indiana florist apart is the intimate feeling you get from being surrounded by so many beautiful things that have been created with such love.
Owner Shari Dyson opened A Perfect Blend in October 2004, but her passion for flowers began years before that. “I’ve always loved flowers and gardening,” she says. “My mom was a big influence. She always had a beautiful garden, and I would help her plant and water and pick the flowers.”
After Shari married her husband Steve and they had two daughters, she began working part-time at a local florist. “I loved it so much that I decided to take some classes and become a certified floral designer,” she says. “Then in 2004, my husband Steve and I took a big leap of faith and opened A Perfect Blend.”
Shari’s mother passed away shortly after the shop opened, but her loving memories of her mother – and the lessons she learned from her – continue to inspir e Shari in everything she does at A Perfect Blend. “My mom taught me about quality and attention to detail,” says Shari. “She also taught me how important it is to treat people with kindness and respect – something we strive to do every day at our shop.”
A Perfect Blend has become known for its unique gifts as well as its beautiful flowers, thanks in part to Shari’s talented daughters Ashley and Paige, who both work at the shop. “They have such great taste, and they’re always coming up with new ideas for our gift items and home décor,” says Shari. “It’s really a family affair here at A Perfect Blend!”
